Overview

Gras-et Ci Kez was founded durring the late 12th century in fall of the year 1052, by Tregfëm Drilriash. The establishment of Gras-et Ci Kez was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Tregfëm Drilriash struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Gras-et Ci Kez as a prison colony.

Gras-et Ci Kez was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Gras-et Ci Kez is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Gras-et Ci Kez is buildings are speckled and packed arround crampt cobblestone streets with seemingly no patern to them. It appears as if the town's residents simply built streets as they pleased and squeazed buildings in wherever and howeave rpossible, creating an organic, frustrating to navigate, maze of a town. The town resides behind a palisade wall complete with battlments, a moat, and timber gatehouses with drawbridges. Gras-et Ci Kez's robustly designed timber walls are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

Gras-et Ci Kez has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Gras-et Ci Kez ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. The people are clearly worried about something, and everyone is either wearing a weapon or has one close at hand. Your gut tells you it’s not mere fate which has caused this town to begin failing...

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Gras-et Ci Kez was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Gras-et Ci Kez lost 218 people, 261 livestock, and 53 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 119, when members of Gras-et Ci Kez's militia enacted an operation to deliver a message to another of their nation's army, then reinforce them. The operation was complicated by major logistical problems. The conflict ended with a last stand against the enemy until a particular event occurred, which ended in victory for Gras-et Ci Kez's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Gras-et Ci Kez's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
